Since attaining my Commerce degree and CPA qualification I have worked for several public and commercial practices, even took a short foray into self-employment, and brought a well-rounded 12 years of experience to my present position.
I started with Whitson Dawson nearly two years ago, on a part-time basis while juggling the new challenge of parenthood.
The staff here are so friendly and helpful, I felt at home immediately. They are more than just co-workers, they are friends.
I love the flexible working arrangements; Whitson Dawson really goes out of their way to accommodate everyone’s unique situation.
The atmosphere at Whitson Dawson is more like a big supportive family than an office. I can always find someone to answer my questions and explain things in plain English.
Whitson Dawson emphasise the importance of team work and professional development. Senior employees review each other’s work, providing constant feedback and valuable insight. As well as attending monthly in-house training sessions and out-of-office conferences, each of the experienced senior staff mentors a junior staff member, helping to bridge the gap between theory and practise.
Eventually I took the leap to full-time work; since then I haven’t looked back and the time has simply flown by! In both a personal and professional sense, working here is one of the best decisions I have ever made. |

| Nearing the completion of my Business Degree at Central Queensland University in 2001, I joined the practice as a junior accountant. Since then, through the continuous professional development and support offered by Whitson Dawson, I have become a fully qualified member of CPA Australia. I conduct local in-house training seminars held for the benefit of graduates, covering a diverse range of topics. In order for Whitson Dawson to maintain a high standard of knowledge throughout the office, I frequently attend professional seminars offered by a range of professional bodies both locally and interstate. |
